Making a Difference from Darwin
Story
Over the past 5 years a network of Darwin residents and friends have acknowledged microfinance is a sustainable, cost effective way of alleviating poverty and generously donated funds used for loans to poor entrepreneurs in West Timor and the Philippines through the support of Opportunity International Australia. Consistent with the theme of The UN International Day for the Eradication of Poverty to be held on 17th of October, we invite you and your friends to again join with us this year to help make a practical difference to the lives of poor families in India and West Timor.
Aim
Our aim is to assist some 175 poor entrepreneurs to develop or expand businesses. With family members this means helping up to 875 people move out of poverty. To achieve this goal we need your help to raise $10,000.
Where will the funds go?
This year we have asked that contributions be split between the programs in India and West Timor. Donors contributing through this website will receive their receipts on line.
